Caring Counselling

time is yours

Psychosynthesis is an approach to counselling formulated in the first half of the twentieth century by Roberto Assagioli (1888 to 1974), a one-time student of Sigmund Freud and a contemporary of Carl Jung.

Assagioli formulated a psychology that includes both the basic emotions and behaviours described by Freud and his own observations of humanity’s great capacity for compassion, generosity and kindness.

Psychosynthesis reconciles the pain of being human, frail, and vulnerable with the reality that we are living a god-given life, whatever form ‘god’ takes or does not take for us individually.

Accordingly, psychosynthesis counselling works with ‘what is trying to emerge’ in an individual’s life, as well as attempting to help think and feel differently about painful life events.
